My story
I am Gustavo Adolfo Huaylla Carrasco. My work as a visual artist has developed in a self-taught way, which has allowed me to build a free visual language centered on experimentation.
My self-taught path has demanded constant discipline in observing and studying materials, which gives my work a very personal authenticity.
My process begins in my studio analyzing discarded papers, forgotten textures — taking them out of their context and giving them new meaning, a new opportunity for life, now turned into art.
In that creative process I seek a dialogue between fragment and color. The piece has to say something to me for it to have aesthetic value. I start with a fragment of paper and from there the work takes its own path.
